Internet And The World Wide Web
Summary:
A modem can be used to connect to the Internet using a standard telephone line. Also, digital subscriber line and cable telephone line could be used for connection. The three ways to access the Internet are using ISP, OSP, and wireless internet service provider. An IP address is a unique string of numbers to identify each device that is connected too the Internet while a domain name is a system to assign addresses to internet web  servers.

Web 2.0

  • A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue.
  • Web 2.0 allows viewers to add in their opinions unlike Web 1.0 where only the creator can edit the content.
  • People could add in false information in Web 2.0, which is a bad thing.
  • Web 2.0 is not totally safe.
  • For example, content in Wikipedia may be edited without permission using Web 2.0

  • We can use html to create a functional website.
  • < html >...</html> indicates that the content in HTML.
  • <head>...</head> contains web page information.
  • <body>...</body> contains main content and structure
  • Save the file in html format using .html or .htm
  • <img src="..."> to add image(no closing tag)
  • <p>...</p> to make paragraph
  • <h1>...</h1>, <h2>..</h2> etc to <h6>...</h6> to make different size headings.
  • <u>..</u> to underline text.
  • <br> to make line break(no closing tag)
  • <em.>..</em> to make emphasized text/italic
